    RICH MAN POOR MAN

    BUSY MAN, THREE PIECE SUIT

    SELLING STOCKS, BONDS AND SHARES
WILL HE SURVIVE OR MAKE IT THERE

    Humhumhumhummmmm

    CRAZY MAN IN THE STREETS
BEGGIN’ FOR MONEY MISSIN’ SOME TEETH
HE AIN’T GOT NOTHING BUT YET HE GIVES IT ALL

    HE AIN’T GOOD ENOUGH

    WELL AIN’T THAT SOMETHIN’

    RICH MAN POOR MAN
    ONE IN THE SAME
    ONE’S BUSY MAKING A LIVIN’
ONE’S TRYING TO KEEP IT SANE

MONEY AND THINGS ARE NOT THE GREATEST SINS
BUT THE LOVE FOR THEM ARE

    THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE
    IN RICH OR POOR

    OF WHO WE REALLY ARE

MONEY AND THINGS ARE NOT THE GREATEST SINS
BUT THE LOVE FOR THEM ARE

Lyrics

WHEN I’M GOOD

When I'm good, I'm good and when I'm bad I'm better
It don't take much, for me to lose my mind
When I'm good, I'm good and when I'm bad I'm better
Forget this Monday to Friday stuff,
It's drinking time.

Well I've been bustin’ my ass since I got up this morning.
I'm cranky and tired and I need some rest
Just one more day of being a good boy
As soon as I can punch that clock, I'll be raising hell.

When I'm good, I'm good and when I'm bad I'm better
It don't take much, for me to lose my mind
When I'm good, I'm good and when I'm bad I'm better
We'll be kicking up our heals till
Closing time.

Ever since I got here tonight, I've been wondering.
About that cute little blonde, sittin’ over there.
If that ring on her finger means, she's taken.
I guess I'll have to find out for myself before it’s too late.

When I'm good, I'm good and when I'm bad I'm better
It don't take much, for me to lose my mind
When I'm good, I'm good and when I'm bad I'm better
Forget about that Monday to Friday stuff, it's quitting time.

Repeat chorus

Well… Forget about that Monday to Friday stuff, it's quitting time.

Lyrics

SO FAR SO GOOD

Boss told me that I'm doin’ fine
Well it’s a good thing he don't know  I was way out of line

just last night when I went out on the town

Then I got home late, after drinking with friends, she said oh my God
Where in the hell have you been?
I just smiled and said baby
You look great

So far so good, I'm alive and well.
I still manage to squeeze by every now and then.
So far so good, I'm still out of the woods.
Well I intend to live forever
So far so good.

I jumped in my truck with no seat belt on, I ran an amber light
She had her radar on, I just flew right passed her, then I was gone.

Then later that night I was shootin’ some pool
When this high class redneck started acting the fool
I punched him between the eyes
Then he left me alone.

Chorus (twice)

Well I intend to live forever

I couldn’t ask for anything better

Well I Intend to live forever

So far so good

THIS OLD BARSTOOL

She didn’t mean to break my heart

Left me the bills and took the car

She said she’s sorry to leave this way

I swear to God I’ll make her pay

Hey bartender, pour me another

So I can drink her off my mind

Keep on pourin’up until when

This old barstool is my best friend

I got a call from her last night

Said she and her lover just had a fight

She said she wants to come back home

I’m sorry baby, you’re on your own

~chorus~

This straight tequila is all it takes

To tell my heart that it won’t break

Might take forever, Lord and a day

For this old heart to mend some way

~chorus~

Hey bartender, pour me another

This old barstool is my best friend

Lyrics

WHAT DO YOU SAY

What do you say we just get lost into this moment

What do you say we just get lost into the night

Kick up our heels and lay your head upon my shoulder

We'll let the crickets be the music of the night

We can watch that big ol' moon fall from the sky

Every minute I'm with you I feel alive

Oh well I get high every time I look into your big blue eyes

I feel the presence of an angel when you smile

And if we could fly, we'd soar across the meadows of the night

There'd be tears of joy when you cry

What do you say we just get lost into each other

What do you say we just get high on our love

Just stay here until the night is finally over

And in the morning we'd still be flying high

We can watch that big ol' moon fall from the sky

Every minute I'm with you I feel alive

~chorus (twice)~

What do you say we just get lost into this moment

What do you say we just get high on our love

What do you say you lay your head upon my shoulder

What do you say we watch the moon fall from the sky

Oooooo, what do you say

Mmmm, what do you say

Oooooh, what do you say hey

SIMPLE MAN

When I was a boy, not a worry in mind

My mama and papa, showed me wrong from right

And If I didn’t listen, they would tan my hide

Now I’m over 40, still got a great big smile

Cause I’m a simple man, I wouldn’t do you no harm

I was born in the country, I was raised on a farm

I like my country lovin’ on the hay in the barn

Near my big ol tractor and my blue tic hound

Someday I’ll grow old, but I don’t worry at all

Cause I’ll still have my woman and my favorite dogs

Strum my old guitar, to some Hagg and Jones

I’m gonna be country till they rest my bones

Cause I’m a simple man, I wouldn’t hurt a soul

I love my old country, country to the core

I like my country livin, way outside of town

Near my John Deer tractor and my blue tic hound

I’ll strum my old guitar, to some Hagg and Jones

I was born country and I’ll be till they rest my bones

HIGH MAINTENANCE HUSBAND

I smoke cigars

And I drive my truck

I still go out now and then

My guitar needs strings

My truck needs new tires

And I’m not sure of what else I could need

And she calls me her high maintenance husband

Just because I spend more than her

It’s a good thing she’s my good hearted woman

When really she’s all that I need

Baby, hi it’s me, can I ask you  a favor

I saw these new rims for the truck

What I can’t hear you, the line’s breaking up

If you still hear me they’re loaded in the truck

~chorus~

The lady at the counter

Just gave me that look

I’d rather see it from you

Cause now I’m off the hook

~chorus~

It’s a good thing she’s my good hearted woman

When really she’s all that I need

Lyrics

I CAN’T LIVE WITH YOU

Well I’ve got a real good woman

But sometimes she’s hard to read

She’ll tell me that she’s not tired

And then she’ll go to sleep

And I’ll say let’s go out to eat

Then she’ll say you choose

How bout we go to Wendy’s

Her look says you’re a fool

I can’t live with you or without you, why is this so hard

The difference between a man and a woman

Is like a truck and a car

A truck will take you thru muddy roads

And a car will take you to town

But at the end of the day, I’m here to stay you keep me hangin’ around

Well we got plans to go out tonight

She says honey we can’t be late

But about an hour later

She’s still there painting nails

God gave man a woman

For all the world to see

There’s no such perfect woman

She’s close enough for me

~chorus~

But at the end of the day, I’m here to stay , well baby you keep me hangin’ around

Lyrics

BURNIN’ DOWN THEM STRINGS

When I was just a young boy
My momma told me son
You better do the things I said before your dad gets home
And I was thinking
There are better things to do

But When my chores were finally over, I'd hurry back into my room.

I'd fire up my 6 string
Sitting on my bed
Tried to pick like Lee and mason
Until my fingers bled
Cause they're  burning down them strings

When I became a young man
I got hired in a band
Standing up on stage with a Tele in my hands and I was dreamin'
Of all the fun and fame

And before the night was over
With our backs against the wind

Standing on the big stage
Like it was meant to be
Tryin’ to pick like Pete and Paisley
Playin’ wild and free
And we're burning down them strings.

I'd fire up my 6 string
Sitting on my bed
Tried to pick like Lee and Mason
Until my fingers bled
Cause they're burning down them strings

Take it home

Lyrics

IF YOU WANT ME TOO

There ain’t a single minute

That I don’t think of you

I wouldn’t have it any other way

If I had to choose

Being far away from you babe

Isn’t all that I had planed

And I count myself so lucky

That I’m still your man

You could have anybody

This I know for sure

Let me prove my love for you

And that I’m forever yours

Let me hold you in my arms

And run my fingers thru your hair

Let me tell you that I love you

Whispering in your ear

Let me show you all my love

And I’ll offer it to you

There’re so many things I want to do with you

If you want me too

When I’m lying next to you babe

It’s just where I need to be

Oh the lonely nights you go to bed without me

But things will get better

And I hope you understand

I’ll take care of you

The best way that I can

You could have anybody

This I know for sure

Let me prove my love for you

And that I’m forever yours

Let me hold you in my arms

And run my fingers thru your hair

Let me tell you that I love you

Whispering in your ear

Let me show you all my love

And I’ll offer it to you

There’re so many things I want to do with you

If you want me too

(repeat)

If you want me too

If you want me too  (whisper)

Lyrics

COMING HOME

Staring down this lonesome highway

And I'm here all alone, it's been too long and I'm coming home

(repeat)

Last time that I saw my baby

Her fear had just begun

She'd get the call

That my journey's done

And I'm coming home, got quite a few miles to go, I'm rolling on

It won't be too long baby and I’m coming home

I see every morning sunrise

Right at the crack of dawn

And I pray the Lord

To keep me going strong

With the past few weeks behind me

Just passed the city limit sign

I'm gearing down, and I'm coming home

And I'm coming home

Just a couple more miles to go

And i'm in yours arms

It won't be too long baby and I'm coming home

(take me home boys)

As I pull into the drive

I see exactly where I belong

It's been too long, baby baby I'm home

And I'm coming home

Just a couple more miles to go

And I'm in yours arms

It won't be too long baby and I'm coming home

Well ..I'm coming home

It won't be too long baby and I'm coming home

Lyrics

WE LIVED ON

Riding down a dirt road

On a mid summer evening

Just to see how far that it will go

In the back seat there is Dixie

And my brother right beside me

Will we do this again we’ll never know

And we lived on

Oh and we lived on

In the very early 90’s

They thought that you were crazy

But we just sang old hippie just the same

Life goes on and days go by

Sometimes I wonder why

You just couldn’t let it go

And we lived on

And we lived on

(Lead break)

And we lived on

And we lived on

Truth is I lost you and there’s

Nothing that I can do

Looking back today there’s

Nothing that I would change

Riding down a dirt road

On a mid summer evening

Just to see how far that it will go

Lyrics

FLY

I loved you more than words could say, many years ago

I tried to find the perfect words to say, just so you would know

Every time I held you in my arms

You swept me off my feet

It was almost like an empty space

Between the floor and me

Every time I looked into your eyes, sparks would start to fly

It was the moment I knew I’d be with you till the end of time

And we would fly, and we still fly

Like two sparrows, in the wind we will fly

We’ll spread our wings into this life

Just as if tomorrow never dies

Till the end of time

Now that we’ve grown older

And all this time has passed

There’re still no words strong enough to show how I feel

Actions speak much louder

Than the words we try to say

Just like the beginning of us

Our love is here to stay

Every time I looked into your eyes, sparks would start to fly

It was the moment I knew I’d be with you till the end of time

And we would fly, and we still fly

Thru a hurricane we’re strong enough to fly

We’ll spread our wings, into the night

We’ll make love as if tomorrow never dies

We’ll spread our wings into the light

Together with the angels we will fly

Till the end of time

Story

Shortly After the Amanda Todd story, I wrote a song Called "I'm the one" and while I was in the studio for my upcoming album "Alive and Well", we did this one too.
The melody for this song is something I had composed while my wife and I were in Niagara Falls last spring. I was sitting in my suite overlooking the falls and I could feel the vibrations and immense energy of the falls rumble thru me as I had this soft calm melody in my mind and soul. I wanted so bad to put lyrics to it that weekend but nothing was making surface. So I decided not to force and just wait for something special to come up. One day in October, a story that I could really relate to showed up and that's when it hit me... I said this is the one!!
A story that truly hit home for me and needed to keep the story going and that's when "I'm the One" was born.

Lyrics

I'm the One

When you say those things to me
Your cruel words cut like a knife
And they crawl deep down in me
And they leave a scar for life

I just need someone who's love
Can pick me up when I am down

And that smile that I wear don't mean that I'm ok
cause it hurts so much inside
And your weakness shows like you're the one who's tough
While I'm the one that dies inside
While I'm the one that dies inside

When it's raining down on me
And there ain’t a soul in sight
I pray someday an angel will
Hold an umbrella on my life

I just hope I'll heal someday
And that you will see the light

And that smile that I wear don't mean that I'm ok
cause it hurts so much inside
And your weakness shows like you're the one who's tough
While I'm the one that dies inside
While I'm the one that dies inside
While I'm the one that dies inside
